Truly customisable clutch bag
Stitchsmith wanted to create a truly customisable clutch bag that could be personalised by the customer to suit any occasion.
It’s not often a client walks through our doors with a true understanding of what they want their product to be and to represent. With Stitchsmith, our client wanted to create a truly customisable clutch bag that could be entirely personalised by the customer to suit any occasion.
The look of the Stitchsmith clutch can be completely transformed using ready-made fabric covers purchased from Stitchsmith or by the customer re-covering the bag using new or up cycled fabric. This process can be repeated again and again and can also utilise a choice of clasps and different metal bag frames.
Stitchsmith had already untaken the initial principle of designing a functional re-coverable clutch bag. The team at CWD added a degree of design sophistication; adding to the functionality of the product and incorporating a blend of soft curves and subtle forms. The engineering team then had to create final production data and refine the assembly method. All model work was detailed in 3D CAD and after a series of prototypes and exploration in production methods, the product was ready to go. We hope Stitchsmith’s clutch bag has all the success it deserves!
