Sonar technology for fish finding

CWD’s long term client, Raymarine, had been making advancements in Sonar technology for fish finding purposes. Raymarine’s US division wanted to bring the product to market alongside a whole new range of products. Before any creative design work was undertaken, Raymarine were heavily involved in shadowing and interviews with a range of users from hobbyists to professionals.
From this research arose a range of powerful design drivers, one of which was known as ‘instant access’. This product enabled users to programme their own hot keys, so that the device could be tailored to individual preferences unique to that user. The BOM cost was of particular importance, therefore, shared components were needed in addition to the use of a variety of in Tool textures.
The final product offers enhanced sonar technology, improved resolution and superior underwater imaging and comes available in 3 x different screen sizes with intuitive controls.
